  • Make a logical connection between the AP and the station – the AP will not receive any data from a station before association.

• Re-association (similar to association).

  • Send repeatedly to the AP.

  • Help the AP to know if the station has moved from/to another BSS.

• Disassociation.

  • Manually disconnect (PC is shutdown or adapter is ejected).
